The JapanesebrandBuzz Rickson's are today counted among the few high-end reproduction manufacturers of military and casual garments in the world! They strive to make true replicas by carefully researching and analyzing original vintage garments, taking great care to duplicate the material while paying close attention to technique and quality with the goal to bring back old forgotten techniques and machines needed to make garments of outstanding quality without compromises.
The M-65 Field Jacket was the successor to the M-51 jacket.Issued as the new standard field jacket for the US Army. Designed witha relatively loose and boxy fit intended to be worn as a layering garment to accommodate lots of diffrent environments and temperaturs. Some changes was made fromits predecessor such as the introduction of velcro instead of buttons in the cuffs and at the collar, the M-65 has a built in hood hidden in the collar. The jacket is made inwindproof cotton sateen cloth andfeatures four pockets on the front and adrawstring waist, just like the earlier versions of the Field Jacket. The olive drab version remained in serviceuntil theearly 80s and was then replaced with a woodland patterncamouflageversion.
The material is durable and waterproof cotton satin and the jacket is also lined with a thick cotton satin dyed in olive drab just as they wear made back in 1965.
The four large pockets on the front have enough capacity to store ones daily necessities.
In our opinion, the M-65 is an exceptional example of a functional design that has stood the test of time.
Buzz Rickson's has carefullyreproduced this garmentaccording to the original one with all the wartime specifications. We would even say that this reproduction is even better than the originals when it comes to the construction and the stitching of the garment.
